The Green Police

Time to participate in Kathy's
blog carnival.

I have to admit, that while I do try to recycle and take environmental considerations under advisement, I choose plastic, a lot. What am I supposed to line a bathroom garbage can with? A plastic bag, of course. Why is it preferable to pay money for a bathroom trash can liner, than to get one for free with my groceries. I also use it to toss out smell garbage right away so it doesn't stink up my home.

So... What do you think of my defense for when the green police come after me? And no, I won't be in the market for a "greener" car for quite some time.

I try to recycle too. I also use plastic to line my garbage can.

Here's what I think is kinda funny - it seems like the huge recycle crowd are all for not using plastic until it inconveniences them. Have you seen a push for Soda to go back in the glass bottles? Do you have any idea how much plastic people would not be throwing away if they did that? No, they only show water bottles as the big plastic criminal.

Those of us who are not all up in the green hype have a saying... 'it's either green or it cleans.'

That is amazing that they have no money, but they have money for policing recycling.

That commercial was a little scary but funny...I know people that are fanatical about recycling and others that don't recycle anything. I fall right in the middle :)

Oh, that commercial just annoys the crap outta me! And these folks who gripe about not recycling while flying around the world in private jets? Pffft!!!

I think doing what we can to take care of the planet is a good thing, but when things become agendas, it seems folks are more interested in pointing out everyone else's shortcomings instead of simply leading by example. Didn't mean to be all grumpy on your LIF post, Helen. Sorry.

So I'm sitting here, in my baby seal fur slippers, reading your post. I'm just shocked that people would use plastic bags for anything. Shocked! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go finish my bottle of water before I throw out my giant box full of styrofoam packing peanuts.
