Helen,

I signed the petition, along with this comment:

"True freedom is freedom to allow voices of opposition to be heard without dismissing them as right wing fundamentalist crack pots. Show us that you truly believe in freedom; not just your own personal agenda."

Yay, me! Seriously, thanks for posting this.

Thanks, Katdish. And yay, you is right! I am so tired of being dismissed because I think human life begins at conception. People dismiss me as unscientific, but where is scientific proof that human life begins elsewhere? It is easier to dismiss us than to answer our questions. Sometimes I feel like we are Dilbert, and having to deal with Dogbert on these issues, you know?

My dad is a doctor and a scientist and totally agrees with life at conception. I'll have to have him write a guest post sometimes about his bioethics stuff. It's fascinating and he does a good job of making it understandable to non scientists such as myself. I've got to feed the kids now, but I'll certainly visit that petition later today.

That would be great! When you do, my post that day will just link to yours (kind of like I did today with the petition).

Helen, it's a very good point. Since when does a right to choose only mean that it's for something like abortion? I'm headed to check your link out in a minute. . . . By the way, I like polka too! You should look up a band called DeVotchka. They're not exclusively polka, but there is a lot of that influence in there!!!!

I agree.

True Choice always has at LEAST two options.

ANd something that Big AL and I were just talking about is why is illegal to sell YOUR OWN ORGANS, but NOT illegal to take the life of an unborn child living within you?

We should all have THE CHOICE of what we do with our own bodies, right? According to this? So why are our own organs excluded?

JML, Thanks. I took your advice and checked them out. 'Til the End of Time" is quite beautiful.
Sherri, yeah. We are so focused on our own rights in this country, that we forget responsibilities, and the rights of others. It is all about I HAVE A RIGHT and YOU HAVE NO RIGHT.
